Draymond Green’s real penalty from the Warriors will be paid in time

In less than a week, the Golden State Warriors will stagger into their ring ceremony no longer as joyful, invincible champions but as a team in crisis.

“This is the biggest crisis that we’ve ever had since I’ve been a coach here,” head coach Steve Kerr said Tuesday.

And although most of this catastrophe stems from Draymond Green’s vicious punch of his younger, smaller teammate, Jordan Poole, the crisis is also the result of the fallout from that violent act, including how the Warriors have responded.

“Any criticism that we face here is fair,” Kerr said.

And, oh, they are facing criticism.
