Patriots owner Robert Kraft marries Dr. Dana Blumberg in a surprise wedding

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft is now married to his girlfriend of three years and fiancée of at least six months, Dr. Dana Blumberg, after a surprise, star-studded wedding in New York City. The New York Post’s Page Six reports that Kraft, 81, and Blumberg, 47, invited about 250 people to a “Kickoff and a Touchdown” party Friday night at the Hall des Lumières in lower Manhattan. The couple told their guests to dress festively, but did not tell them that they would be attending a wedding. According to Page Six, the couple showed a 10-minute video before they were introduced to the crowd as husband and wife by longtime NFL broadcaster Al Michaels. Sir Elton John reportedly played for an hour as a wedding gift to Kraft and Blumberg. Page Six reports that the couple hatched plans for the wedding when they were backstage at John’s recent “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour stop at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. The wedding also reportedly featured performances by four-time Grammy Award winner Ed Sheeran, who will perform at Gillette next year, and rapper Meek Mill, who has become a close friend of Kraft’s. Former Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who won six Super Bowls with the franchise, was among the former and current New England players in attendance. Brady showed up to the wedding alone amid reports that he and his wife of 13 years, supermodel Gisele Bündchen, are now estranged and have each hired divorce attorneys. Other Patriots players at the wedding included Pro Football Hall of Famers Ty Law, Richard Seymour and Randy Moss; former players and current assistant coaches Troy Brown and Jerod Mayo; newly-inducted Patriots Hall of Famer Vince Wilfork; former no. 1 overall pick Drew Bledsoe; and current players Devin McCourty, Matthew Slater and David Andrews. Photos taken at the event showed other guests included NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer John Bon Jovi, fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger, Warner Bros. Discovery president and CEO David Zaslav and Home Depot co-founder Ken Langone. In March, Hilfiger announced at a gala in Palm Beach, Florida, that Kraft and Bloomberg recently got engaged. The couple started dating in 2019 and made the decision to go public at the French Open that June. Kraft was previously married to his college sweetheart, Myra Hiatt Kraft, for nearly 50 years before she died of ovarian cancer in July 2011 at age 68. Blumberg is one of the foremost ophthalmologists in the country and is affiliated with the NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Kraft and his family’s foundation are making a historic $50 million donation to Massachusetts General Hospital, a founding member of Mass General Brigham, in support of community health and health equity.
