Kawasaki has launched the updated Z650RS in India, with the middleweight priced at Rs 7.83 lakh, ex-showroom. With this update, the motorcycle brings some notable changes while the mechanicals remain unchanged. The biggest update for the 2026 model year is under the skin. The Z650RS continues with the same 649cc, parallel-twin engine, but it is now E20-compliant, in line with Kawasaki’s wider move to update the 650cc range. The engine produces 68 hp and 62.1 Nm of torque and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. An assist and slipper clutch are offered as standard. In terms of design, Kawasaki has retained the neo-retro character of the Z650RS. The motorcycle features a circular LED headlamp, wide handlebars, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank and a flat, single-piece seat. For 2026, the bike gets a new metallic blue and gold paint scheme replacing the earlier black and gold combination. It also has golden alloy wheels.
The suspension setup includes a telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear, while braking is handled by disc brakes at both ends, with dual front discs. On the electronics front, the Z650RS gets analog-style dials for the speedometer and tachometer, complemented by a multi-functional LCD display. Kawasaki Traction Control is also part of the package, offering two selectable modes. Deliveries of the 2026 Kawasaki Z650RS in India are expected to begin from mid-January 2026.Stay connected to TOI Auto for latest updates on the automotive sector and follow us on our social media handles on Facebook, Instagram and Xpress.
