    Mercedes-Benz GLE, GLS Night Edition launched: Price, what's special?

    Mercedes-Benz India has launched new Night Edition versions of the GLE and GLS SUVs in the country. These are the two best-selling luxury SUVs from the brand in their standard avatar. However, the limited-series models are part of global production and will be available in limited numbers for the Indian market. Here’s a quick look at some of the key details you need to know.

    Mercedes-Benz GLEGLS Night Edition: Key Specifications

    The Night Edition range gets a blacked-out exterior treatment with two color options: Obsidian Black and the new Alpine Gray shade, which is exclusive to these special editions and is not offered on the standard GLE and GLS. Both the SUVs also get unique cosmetic updates and additional equipment compared to the regular models.Prices for the GLE Night Edition start at Rs 1.05 crore, ex-showroom, for the GLE 300d, while the petrol-powered GLE 450 is priced at Rs 1.14 crore. In the GLS range, the GLS 450 Night Edition is priced at Rs 1.41 crore, while the GLS 450d Night Edition is priced at Rs 1.43 crore. All prices are ex-showroom.On the outside, both the SUVs feature dark-themed styling elements. Inside, Mercedes-Benz has equipped the Night Edition model with black Nappa leather upholstery and anthracite open-pore oak wood trim, both exclusive to this edition. Both SUVs now offer a head-up display as standard.The GLE Night Edition also gets AIRMATIC suspension as an additional upgrade over the standard model. Under the hood, the mechanical setup remains unchanged. The GLE 300d has a 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 265 hp and 550 Nm, while the GLE 450 has a 3.0-litre petrol engine that produces 375 hp and 500 Nm. The GLS 450 also uses the same petrol unit, while the GLS 450d is powered by a 3.0-litre diesel engine producing 362 hp and 750 Nm. All variants are mated to 9G-TRONIC automatic gearbox.
