Honda City facelift launched at Rs 11.99 lakh: New design, features revealed

Honda Cars India today finally launched the Honda City facelift sedan in the Indian market. The entry-level SV petrol manual variant is priced at Rs 11.99 lakh, ex-showroom. The V trim is priced at Rs 13.29 lakh for the manual and Rs 14.29 lakh for the CVT. The ZX variant is priced at Rs 15.25 lakh for the manual and Rs 16.25 lakh for the CVT. The top-of-the-line ZX+ variant is priced at Rs 16.14 lakh for the manual, Rs 17.14 lakh for the CVT. The Strong Hybrid variant is priced at Rs 20.99 lakh (ex-showroom).Design-wise, the new Honda City adopts a sharper design language with a flatter, more upright front end than the outgoing model. The biggest highlight of the front end is the connected light strip and Honda’s new logo. The updated styling takes inspiration from Honda’s new global products, featuring cleaner surfaces and a more modern look. The grille design also looks different, with a honeycomb pattern that replaces the existing mesh pattern with horizontal elements. All these changes make the car wider and sharper than before. The side profile looks unchanged, including the sloping roofline, door design and ORVMs. However, the updated model features a new alloy wheel design. At the rear, it gets a redesigned tailgate with a lower bumper and also gets a smoke effect for the taillights and vertical reflector units. Color options include Crystal Black Pearl, Radiant Red Metallic, Obsidian Blue Pearl, Platinum White Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic and Meteoroid Gray Metallic.Moving inside, the overall layout remains the same, but with a few cosmetic changes. It now gets a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, 8-speaker sound system, ambient lighting, wireless phone charging pad, a sunroof, rear windscreen sunshade, automatic climate control and more. In terms of safety, it will continue to get six airbags, ABS, EBD, TCS, lane watch camera, rain-sensing wipers, hill-start assist and level 2 ADAS. Talking about powertrain, the existing powertrain options remain intact in the 2026 City. The sedan continues with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 121hp and 145Nm, paired with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed CVT gearbox. Honda has also moved forward with a 1.5-litre strong-hybrid setup, which develops 126hp and 253Nm and comes mated to an e-CVT transmission. The carmaker claims a fuel efficiency of 27.26kpl for the hybrid version.
