India’s passenger vehicle manufacturers closed December 2025 on a largely positive note, with most brands posting strong year-end momentum and Maruti Suzuki once again leading the sales charts. The final month of the calendar year highlighted both volume leadership at the top and steady growth at the major manufacturers.Maruti Suzuki India maintained its strong position by registering total sales of 2,17,854 units in December 2025. Domestic sales stood at 1,82,165 units, while exports stood at 25,739 units and sales to other OEMs stood at 9,950 units. Followed by Mahindra & Mahindra, domestic passenger vehicle sales grew 23 per cent year-on-year to 50,946 units, reflecting the continued attraction for Mahindra’s SUV portfolio.Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles recorded total sales of 50,519 units in December 2025, up 14.1 percent compared to the same month last year. Electric vehicle volumes grew 24.2 per cent to 6,906 units, underscoring Tata’s strong presence in the EV sector.Hyundai Motor India reported total sales of 58,702 units in December 2025, a growth of 6.6 percent year-on-year. Domestic sales stood at 42,416 units, while exports contributed 16,286 units, registering a healthy growth of 26.5 percent.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor recorded total sales of 39,333 units during the month, a growth of 33 per cent year-on-year. Domestic sales stood at 34,157 units, while exports stood at 5,176 units.Kia India ended the year on a high after entering the Indian market with its best-ever December sales of 18,659 units, more than double its volume compared to December 2024. MG Motor India, on the other hand, completed the list with bulk dispatches of 6,500 units in December 2025.
