    Hyundai Motor India has achieved a major sales milestone with the Creta, as the popular mid-size SUV has recorded its highest ever annual sales in a calendar year. In 2025, Hyundai plans to sell more than 2 lakh units of the Creta, which means an average of around 550 vehicles are sold every day.This milestone also marks the completion of 10 years of the Creta brand in India. Over the past decade, SUVs have steadily increased their presence in one of the most competitive segments in the country, registering a compound annual growth rate of over 9 percent between 2016 and 2025. With a market share of over 34 percent in the mid-size SUV segment, Creta continues to be the leader in the segment. Here’s a quick look at why this model is different.

    Since its launch, the Creta has consistently been the best-selling mid-size SUV in India every year. Hyundai currently offers the Creta with multiple powertrain options, which include a 1.5-litre MPI petrol engine, a 1.5-litre turbo GDI petrol engine and a 1.5-litre U2 CRDI diesel engine. Depending on the variant, these engines are paired with multiple transmission options such as 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The Creta range also includes an electric version/In terms of output, the naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol engine produces 115 hp, the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol delivers 160 hp, while the 1.5-litre diesel develops 116 hp. This wide spread of engine options allows the Creta to cater to buyers with different needs.

Safety and convenience are enhanced through Level 2 ADAS. On the design front, the Creta’s bold styling, LED lighting elements and strong road presence continue to appeal to Indian buyers looking for SUV-like styling in a manageable size.In 2025, sunroof-equipped variants accounted for more than 70 percent of Creta sales, underscoring the growing demand for premium features in the segment. Diesel-powered versions also remain relevant, contributing 44 percent to total SUV sales.With modern technology, multiple powertrain options and competitive pricing, the Hyundai Creta has established itself as an all-rounder in the mid-size SUV segment.
