    Hyundai Motor India has closed FY 2024-25 on a strong note, registering its best-ever performance in the country. The company produced 7.63 lakh vehicles and sold 7.62 lakh units during the financial year. These were record figures for the country in terms of production, sales and after-sales operations.

    SUVs remain the biggest growth driver for Hyundai in India. The segment’s share in the company’s domestic sales was 69 percent in FY25. Let us tell you that Creta’s market share in the mid-size SUV segment was more than 30 percent.Currently, Hyundai’s India lineup includes the Exeter, Venue, Venue N Line, Creta, Creta N Line and Alcazar. Hyundai also saw encouraging trends in rural markets, especially for its CNG models. Sales of CNG vehicles in rural areas grew by 33 per cent year-on-year, while rural penetration increased to 15 per cent in FY2025. Hyundai also confirmed that it is strategically evaluating the launch of its global luxury brand Genesis in India.In terms of manufacturing expansion, Hyundai has started engine production at its Talegaon plant in Pune, with vehicle production scheduled to begin in Q3FY26. Once fully operational, Hyundai’s annual production capacity in India will increase to 1.074 million units.

    Connected car technology remains another focus area for Hyundai. Since introducing connected mobility in 2019, the company has equipped 12 of its 14 models with BlueLink technology. The share of connected cars in Hyundai’s retail sales was 23.2 per cent in FY20, a sharp increase from 6.2 per cent in FY19-20.

    26 models will be launched by FY2030

    Looking ahead, Hyundai has laid out an aggressive product roadmap, with 26 new models and upgrades planned by fiscal 2030. This will include six electric vehicles, 20 ICE models and additional hybrid offerings.To support EV adoption, Hyundai plans to install 600 fast public chargers over the next six to seven years, of which more than 100 are already operational. Its charger management system currently supports over 14,000 charging points across India. In terms of exports, the company has cumulatively shipped 3.7 million vehicles to more than 150 countries. Exports grew 21 percent year-on-year in April 2025 and Hyundai is targeting export growth of 7 to 8 percent in fiscal 2026, focusing on Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.
