Harley-Davidson is all set to introduce its latest offering, the X440T for the Indian market on December 6. Jointly developed with Hero MotoCorp, the new model expands the X440 family and was recently teased. From the early photos shared, it appears that the model has made some cosmetic, design changes while retaining most of the mechanical components of the X440. Here’s a quick look at everything you need to know.
Harley-Davidson X440T: Key details you need to know
The most noticeable change on the X440T is its redesigned rear. The tail is now longer and sleeker, complemented by a revised seat and larger grab handles for the pillion. Harley has also changed the rear fender to match the updated look. The motorcycle will be offered in four color options: blue, white, red and black, each featuring new ‘Harley-Davidson X440T’ graphics and checkered-style elements on the side panels. While the front end continues with a familiar design, the addition of bar-end mirrors and blacked-out front fender gives it a fresh touch.
Although the styling has seen changes, the motorcycle continues to share its core platform with the standard X440. It uses the same 440 cc, single-cylinder, air-oil cooled engine with a 6-speed gearbox and slip-and-assist clutch. In the X440, this motor produces 27 hp and 38 Nm, although Harley-Davidson may re-tune the output for the X440T. This continues with 43mm USD front forks and 7-step preload-adjustable twin shock absorbers at the rear.Feature-wise, the X440T is expected to retain the 3.5-inch circular TFT screen with smartphone connectivity and navigation support. However, the brand may add new technology this time, including ride-by-wire, multiple riding modes and traction control. Dual-channel ABS will remain standard. More details including pricing will be revealed at the official launch on December 6.
