Domestic automaker Mahindra & Mahindra has released the first official teaser of the updated XUV700, which will be launched with its new name XUV 7X0. Scheduled for its debut on January 5, 2026, the Mahindra XUV 7XO becomes the brand’s next combustion-engine model to adopt the updated naming convention after the XUV 3XO, which replaced the XUV300 through a significant redesign.
In the teaser, Mahindra offers a quick glimpse of several updated styling cues ā a redesigned front grille, sharper tail-lamp elements, and a profile showcasing new C-shaped LED headlamps. The teaser also reveals that the new XUV 7XO gets new 7-shaped DRLs that wrap around the headlamp cluster, paired with trapezoidal LED lighting elements. The recently introduced XEV 9S inspires the overall look to some extent. A new set of alloy wheel designs are also expected, although Mahindra has not revealed any details yet. Details about the cabin of the XUV 7XO are still under wraps, but it’s fair to expect that Mahindra will carry over the triple-screen layout seen on the The SUV is likely to be offered in both 6, 5 and 7-seat configurations.

In terms of features, it is expected to carry forward all the features of the Panoramic included. Sunroof, ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, connected car technology and much more. Mechanically, it is expected to remain the same, with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol (up to 197 bhp, 380 Nm) and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel (up to 182 bhp, 450 Nm). Gearbox options include a 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission, while select diesel variants should retain the AWD option.Based on the additional equipment offered, the price of the XUV 7XO facelift is likely to increase marginally compared to the existing XUV700. With deliveries commencing soon after the start of January, the refreshed model arrives at an opportune time to maintain market momentum amid increasing competition.
