2026 Tata Punch launching tomorrow: Everything you need to know

Tata Motors is all set to launch the new Tata Punch in the Indian market tomorrow i.e. on January 13, 2026. This is the first major facelift for the micro-SUV since its launch and brings a new exterior look, a refreshed interior, additional features and a new engine option. Pre-bookings are expected to begin soon, with customer deliveries likely to begin by the end of January 2026. Ahead of its launch, let’s take a look at everything you need to know. Variants, Color Options The outgoing Punch is offered in a total of 10 variants – Pure, Pure (O), Adventure, Adventure+, Adventure S, Adventure+ S, Accomplished+, Accomplished+ S, Creative+ and Creative+ S. With the 2026 Punch, the company has now streamlined the Punch range by reducing the number of trims, introducing the Smart as the new entry-level variant and discontinuing the earlier top-spec Creative+ version. The updated model is offered in a total of six variants – Smart, Pure, Pure Plus, Adventure, Accomplished and Accomplished Plus S. It will be offered in six variants – Bengal Rouge, Caramel, Coorg Clouds, Scientific, Daytona Gray and Pristine White.

design Design-wise, the overall silhouette remains the same, but the front and rear have received significant updates. Some design elements are inspired by the Punch EV. At the front, it has slim DRLs and a clean blacked-out grille that adds a touch of aggression. The bumper is dominated by black cladding, giving the SUV a tougher, more muscular stance, while a functional air intake ensures better airflow to the engine. Completing the update are new LED headlamps that are set in crisp, angular housings, as well as a silver skid plate that adds a strong finishing touch to the front end. On the sides, the design remains largely the same as the previous model but now gets newly designed 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. At the rear, the tailgate and lower bumper have been redesigned, and the Punch now gets new connected LED taillamps.Interior and Features Moving inside, the overall layout is similar to the outgoing model but receives a few updates. It now features a free-standing 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a two-spoke steering wheel with illuminated elements. Below this are touch-based air conditioning controls with toggles to adjust fan speed and temperature. Other features include digital instrument cluster, single-pane sunroof, automatic climate control, premium sound system, cruise control, push-button start/stop and more. On the safety front, the 2026 Tata Punch gets six airbags, ESC, ABS, TPMS, a 360-degree camera, reverse parking sensors and more.engine options Talking further about the engine options, the new Tata Punch is powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 88 PS and 115 Nm of torque. In CNG guise, the same engine produces 73 PS and 103 Nm of torque and is offered only with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The petrol version is available with both manual and AMT gearbox options. Additionally, the 2026 Punch will be offered with a new 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 120 PS of power and 170 Nm of torque, which will be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
