India’s electric two-wheeler sector is witnessing a new phase, with established Japanese manufacturers finally getting into the EV game. Honda and Suzuki, long known for their petrol-powered scooters, have now launched electric versions of their most famous models. Honda has already launched the Activa E, while Suzuki has recently revealed the prices of the e-Access. Here’s how the Suzuki E-Access and Honda Activa E compare on price, range and features.
Suzuki E-Access vs Honda Activa E: Battery and range
The biggest difference between the two scooters is in their battery strategy. Honda Activa E: Uses a dual swappable battery setup, consisting of two 1.5 kWh lithium-ion batteries paired with a 6 kW electric motor. This motor produces 22 Nm of torque and allows the scooter to reach a top speed of 80 kmph. Honda claims that its riding range is 102 km. However, instead of home charging, the Activa e: relies on Honda’s e:SWAP battery stations, where riders can replace drained batteries with charged ones in just a few minutes.Suzuki, meanwhile, has taken a more traditional approach with the e-Access. It comes with a fixed 3.07 kWh LFP battery that offers a certified range of 95 km. The electric motor produces 4.1 kW of power and 15 Nm of torque, with a top speed of 71 kmph. Charging flexibility is one of the key strengths of e-Access. Using a portable charger, it takes about 6 hours and 42 minutes to fully charge it at home, while a DC fast charger can fully charge it in just 2 hours and 12 minutes.
Suzuki E-Access vs Honda Activa E: Features
In terms of features, the Honda Activa E: gets a larger 7-inch TFT display with connectivity powered by the Honda RoadSync Duo app. It enables turn-by-turn navigation, call and music controls, live vehicle tracking and maintenance alerts. The scooter also offers three riding modes: Econ, Standard and Sport. The Suzuki e-Access Counter comes with a smaller 4.3-inch TFT screen but still packs a good set of modern features. It offers keyless ignition, three riding modes: Eco, Ride A and Ride B, and a reverse mode for easy maneuvering in tight spaces. Smartphone connectivity enables navigation, traffic updates and call or SMS alerts. Additional highlights include a USB charging port, full LED lighting, and support for fast charging.
Suzuki E-Access vs Honda Activa E: Pricing
