Although both have retro looks, on paper these are quite different motorcycles, especially when it comes to engine size and overall character. However, their overlapping price bands and modern-retro designs make them natural rivals for many buyers looking to shop in the Rs 1.5-2 lakh range.     The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 uses the brand’s 349 cc air-oil-cooled single-cylinder engine. It produces around 20.2 hp and 27 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox with assist and slip clutch. On the other hand, the Yamaha XSR 155 uses a 155 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor. This powerplant produces around 18.4 hp and a fairly low torque of 14.2 Nm. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and gets assist and slipper clutch.

    On the features front, the Yamaha XSR 155 comes with a fully digital LCD instrument cluster, traction control, Bluetooth connectivity, LED lights and gear position indicator.The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 keeps things simple. It gets a semi-digital instrument cluster, LED lighting, USB Type-C charging in select variants and Bluetooth-based navigation on higher trims.

    The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 uses telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers that offer preload adjustment. It also gets larger brake discs, 300 mm disc at the front and 270 mm disc at the rear, along with dual-channel ABS as standard.In comparison, the Yamaha XSR 155 comes with a more modern setup. It has USD front forks and rear monoshock. Braking is handled by a 282 mm front disc and 220 mm rear disc, and it is also equipped with dual-channel ABS.

    Talking about the price, the ex-showroom price of Yamaha XSR 155 is around Rs 1.49 lakh. The Royal Enfield Hunter 350, after the recent GST-related changes, is now more competitively priced, with prices starting at around Rs 1.37 lakh depending on the variant and color option and going up to around Rs 1.62 lakh ex-showroom.
